Create a new, updated version of the client's old logo. The client was inspired by early-2000s brands such as Monster, Venom, and Hyobusa. Keeping this in mind, trying to create a new modern look with a fresh new perspective on the brand.
This was a 2-week process that involved researching, thumbnailing, concepting, and executing the deliverables based on client feedback. Research was provided by the client with different brand logo images, using these as a base point, thumbnailing focused on the main or most noticeable elements of these brands, and drew inspiration from them while creating unique logos. After touching base with the client and getting feedback, I polished concepts and executed the deliverables where the final part of the process.
Early Concepts and Original Logo
The client that I worked with on this project is an MMA commentator for different promotions. Luckily, while working on this project, the client had a clear idea of what they wanted the logo to look like. I used a font that reminded me of a classic rock band and slightly warped it to create a bow-tie shape, which is what the client always wears at work. The shape behind the words is an octagon, which is the same shape as the cage. The 2 outlines of the octagon represent the red zone, a common term used when watching matches. Finally, I put the slogan in the middle between the two words to break up the space and allow for negative space.
