CombatU

A personal project that was a reimagined version of the current CombatU Logo. 

Looked for inspiration and references to understand the anatomy of a hornet. Line study that involved researching how different shapes and lines are perceived by an audience. Thumbnailing, concepting, and producing the final deliverable. 

 I focused on sticking with the main colors of Sacramento State, green and gold. Using gold for the main hornet and black for the shadows, which creates a dramatic contrast. I wanted the hornet to seem intimidating, so I used sharp, angular shapes for its body, mostly triangles and polygons. Using the Green as a background color provided dramatic contrast while staying true to the original colors.
